green vs blue: let's get it on!!!

the news about the collapse of major financial institutions have been sidelined in the far corners of most people's mind while they wait for the historic battle between green & blue at 4pm (where a P350 ringside ticket is being sold for P25,000).

animo green!

sing with the world!

despite the falling peso, the conflict in mindanao or the occasional stupid idea, there are still a lot of good reasons that make me break into song, and just go 'boom de ah dah'.

self-declared, week-long holiday

i'm on day 2 of my 9-day holiday. all i've done so far is prepare for day 3 'til 6. all this prep work seem to be slowing down the time. the only consolation is imagining what i could be doing at this exact time tomorrow.

an unstoppable force meets an immovable object

'the dark knight' is the summer movie of '08. christian bale is the best caped crusader in my book & heath ledger brings creepy goodness to the harlequin of hate (plus, i love his lines).

this won't be a lengthy review 'coz there are lots on the net. while you're searching, check out the complete tdk posters here. this is my favorite.

i'm tempted to see a 2nd viewing in imax after reading some reviews from folks who watched tdk in that format. i think i'm going to give in, and troop to sm mall of asia.

word to the wise, never bring your kids to see tdk or even let them watch the bootleg dvd when it's out. i don't think they'll ever see clowns the same way again especially if they catch the clown prince of crime's 'magic' trick.

drip by drip, starbucks lost what made it shine

i agree with the article. hanging out in starbucks has been a watered-down experience even in manila (and their coffee tastes burnt). this is why i see myself hanging out more & more in coffee bean & tea leaf.

once mcdonald's has beaten a company at their core game, it's time to reflect. you can find the story here.

3 reasons why i liked 'wanted'

violence. the shoot-em-up kind. 'nuff said.

james mcavoy in the lead role. i've seen this dude play a variety of roles. he's that versatile (he's rumored to play bilbo baggins in 'the hobbit'). morgan freeman deserved props also for simply uttering the line 'shoot that motherf*cker!' it was so 'samuel l. jackson'-esque. and as for miss jolie, i didn't find anything out of the ordinary since she has starred in similar films, and has been naked in almost all her movies (even in her animated form; referring to beowulf, and not shark tale or kung-fu panda).

the film's final line, 'what the f*ck have you done lately?' i walked out the theater with this question ringing in my ear. a few seconds after, i realized i was overanalyzing the message of a popcorn flick.

overall, it was good stuff. i'd like to see a sequel soon.
